The residential construction industry is facing a labor shortage. To address the issue, we need all hands-on deck. Join the Texas Association of Builders’ Workforce Development Committee chair, Ron Rohrbacher, to examine current workforce data and projected industry growth, review resources that the Texas Association of Builders has available to support statewide workforce development and learn what you can do in your community to help develop the future of the residential construction industry.
Ron Rohrbacher is the owner of RRC Consulting. He graduated with a Degree in Industrial Education and a master’s degree in education from Indiana State University. He spent 13 years coaching and teaching high school and community college drafting, woodworking, and auto mechanics. After that, he worked for the next 31 years as V.P. of Construction Training for Perry Homes and trained more than 1,100 construction superintendents.
For 25 years, Ron was the Chairman of the Texas Association of Builders Codes and Standards Committee and was recently appointed as the inaugural chairman of TAB’s Workforce Committee. He was appointed by the Governor to the Industry Based Certification Committee and to the Board of Regents of Texas State Technical College. He is the recipient of several awards from the Texas Association of Builders including the Sandlin Builder of the Year Award in 2012, Ted Schlossman Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, and Ron Connally Award of Excellence in 2023.
